It’s me Charmaine Campo, Owner of Do Good Communications and I want to welcome you to today’s blog post where we will be looking at What Is The Best Platform For Creating Online Courses… And Why?
Before you continue…
This blog post is for the adventurous educator ready to teach online ONLY.
There are a lot of teaching platforms out there, and there are a lot of questions you need to answer before you can determine the one that will work best for you.
The first things to consider are…
… Is it difficult in your area to increase a number of calls per week or the number of students that enroll?
… Are you in a high competition area, concentrated in a small space?
… Are you already getting students or is this s brand new venture?
… And, finally, do you have time and money to dedicate to marketing and sharing the message about your new course or program?
Because it can be very frustrating if you don’t have a plan in place already to reach the parents, students that you are wanting to reach before you get started teaching online. You can find yourself feeling stressed, frustrated, tired, and like your financial circumstances are tight…
… And you may feel like you are not able to deliver the quality educational programming that you are regularly able to deliver.
So think about those things when you are looking at the platforms. And the reason I say this is because there are so many great platforms that offer you an all-in-one experience.
Kartra and ClickFunnels, have built-in integrations with digital marketing tools to offer educators an all-in-one teaching plus marketing platform. That means you can use these platforms to run your course or other online program and you can promote it using just one platform and maybe one or two other apps.
These four platforms come recommended by educators in the field that I have spoken with, personally.
Kajabi is an online teaching platform that comes recommended by other educators, but it costs over a $100/month… so depending on what your budget is it may or may not work for you.
Again, what you want to consider when you are looking at these platforms is… Where Are Your Customers?
For example, do your parents and students spend a lot of time on social media? Maybe these platforms need to integrate with social media.
Maybe you’re a music teacher targeting adults who always dreamed of learning an instruments. Well those folks may not be on social media! Older students may rely more heavily on emails to get information. So maybe you want to use an email strategy to promote your course; maybe you even want to deliver your entire course via email.
What kind of experience are you providing for your new students and is it responsive to their needs?
You need to know where your customers are before you select an online teaching platform.
Trying to navigate the digital marketing space and selecting the perfect online teaching platform can be confusing. If you have a platform you are looking at, and you’d like to discuss how it can fit in to your overall strategy, I am happy to talk about it with you.
